Just because a minority faction of Muslims choose to interpret their faith in a way that is hateful, that doesn’t mean that Islam as a religion is violent and supportive of wiping out other religions/cultures.
Bad people exist in every religion, just as good people exist in every religion. Perpetuating hateful discrimination against someone based solely on their faith isn’t just ignorant, it’s immoral.
