david lynch is a brilliant, brilliant man.
with films like mulholland dr (my fav film of all time), eraserhead, inland empire and even his web series, rabbits, you’ll see that lynch is in the business of creating epic dialogue with these incredible moods he sets mostly by music/sounds.  he is the only film maker i know of that can take something like a dream or the scariest corner of our innermost subconscious and execute that into film.
i’m equally terrified and delighted by this man simply because i think he has an eye for the unexplained things that go on deep in people’s brains.  this is why it took me forever to watch twin peaks.  i fear this man’s level of genius.
i’m halfway through the first season of twin peaks and it’s amazing in a way that nothing else is amazing.  it’s brilliant, mysterious and hilarious- all at the same time.  no one else can do this.  i don’t know why it took me so long, but it’s stellar so far.
